Description
This pattern includes the following sizes: Newborn – 3m, 3-6m, 6-12m, age 1-2, age 2-4, age 4-7, age 7-12, Small Adult, Medium Adult, Large Adult and XL Adult. An overlocker can be used for most steps, but a regular sewing machine is all that is needed. The smaller sizes can get very fiddly, so if you’re fairly new to sewing I strongly recommend starting with a larger size. The pattern is suitable for enthusiastic beginners.
This pattern is named after the inspirational aviator, Amy Johnson. She was born in Yorkshire and was the first woman to fly solo from Britain to Australia. I consider both Yorkshire and Australia to be my home, and my maiden name was Johnson so I feel quite a connection with Amy.
She completed several record-breaking flights and flew as part of the Air Transport Auxiliary during the Second World War. She qualified as a ground engineer, the only woman at the time to do so. She also became a style icon, model and journalist. From every angle she was an inspiration and I hope she would have liked this hat!
This listing is for two separate files – instructions and a print-at-home pattern which can be printed on A4/legal/letter sized paper.
Please note that this is listing for a downloadable PDF sewing pattern, not a finished garment. Due to the nature of digital downloads no refund can be given if bought in error.
Jill Zyla –
I hesitated to buy this pattern it first, because I hate to buy full price, but it’s really worth it. This makes the absolute perfect baby shower gift or cute addition to any outfit. I’ve used it with quilting cotton, linen, fleece, fur, and knit. The possibilities are endless! The drafting is so user friendly and instructions are spot-on. Great job!
